This October, we were honoured to join Al Jalila Children’s in marking Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. The event celebrated the remarkable strength of children who face the hardest of battles every day, and it was a morning full of warmth, music and joy.

A Musical Welcome

The day began with an orchestra performance welcoming the delegation. The music set a tone of celebration and hope for everything that followed, and it reminded everyone why we were there: to stand beside these children and their families.

Play, Wonder and a Little Magic

The children were at the heart of the day, with activities designed to bring out their curiosity and laughter. The Mad Scientist kept young minds busy with experiments and surprises, while the photo session with Princess Elsa and Stitch brought big smiles and memories to treasure. For a few hours, the focus was on being a child.

Meeting the Children in the Wards

One of the most meaningful moments was the walkthrough of the hospital, where the delegation met children in the wards. These personal moments were a chance to offer encouragement and to see their courage up close. The strength these children show every day, often against all odds, is humbling.

A Celebration Together

The event closed with the cutting of the cake, bringing together children, families, medical teams, and guests in a moment of shared joy.

Childhood Cancer Awareness Month is a reminder of the importance of compassion, community, and hope. We are grateful to the Al Jalila Children’s team for their care and dedication, and above all to the brave children who inspire us all.
